Rexford is a city in Thomas County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 231. Rexford is located approximately 20 miles north of Colby, Kansas, and is primarily an agricultural community. The area was first settled in 1878, and the city was established in 1886. The town thrived through the early 20th century due to the railroad and nearby oil wells. Today, Rexford is home to a post office, a gas station, and a few businesses. It is also a popular spot for hunting and fishing. The city is served by USD 236, which operates Rexford Community School for students from kindergarten through 8th grade. High school students attend the nearby Colby Community College.
